Andri's story

Based in Reykjavik, Andri Fannberg is one of Iceland's most experienced and formally trained fly fishing guides. With nearly a decade of full-time guiding — almost entirely in Iceland — he has built an intimate knowledge of the country's most rewarding trout, char, and salmon waters across the south and west. Andri holds three professional guiding certifications: a two-year sport fishing guide programme in Sweden, a one-year adventure guiding certification in Iceland, and a six-month tour guiding course in Iceland. This level of formal training is rare and reflects a deep commitment to safe, expert-led guiding. His speciality is fly fishing for Brown Trout, Arctic Char, and Atlantic Salmon — roughly 80% of his career has been focused on trout, with the remainder on salmon and char. He has also guided internationally in Argentina and Canada. Gear is available to hire for an additional fee. Pickup from Reykjavik or near the fishing location is always included. Andri has arranged accommodation for clients through his local network at no extra cost.
