This guided fly fishing experience is defined by extreme versatility. Led by an independent local professional operating under the banner of Austral Drift, this trip offers anglers the unique opportunity to explore three distinct areas of Chilean Patagonia within a single trip or across the season.
Because Patagonian weather and fish migrations change rapidly, the fishing opportunities shift depending on the month. Your guide adapts to these changes, taking you to where the fishing is most productive at that exact time. The approach is deeply rooted in traditional walk-and-wade fishing, allowing you to cover water efficiently and stalk fish in some of the most remote and windswept landscapes on earth.
Whether you are building a custom multi-area itinerary across Magallanes or looking for a focused daily trip out of Punta Arenas, your day on the water is fully private and tailored to the current conditions.
Waters

Punta Arenas Area
Extensive walk-and-wade opportunities on the Río Penitente, Laguna Parrillar, and various local spring creeks. Excellent for resident brown trout.

Puerto Natales & Torres del Paine
Fish under the shadow of the iconic granite peaks. This area offers powerful glacial rivers and clear streams. (Note: Specific access and National Park CONAF permits are confirmed upon itinerary design).

Tierra del Fuego
The legendary island at the end of the world. Known for extreme winds, challenging casting conditions, and the ultimate reward: massive sea-run brown trout.
What you fish for
